Though the William Optics Gran Turismo 81mm Refractor already has an impressive aperture of 81mm and a focal ratio of f/5.9, the light gathering abilities become even greater when the William Optics Flat6AIII 0.8x Reducer & Field Flattener is added. This high quality reducer and field flattener allows you to capture more light in less amount of time by reducing the focal ratio to f/4.8. Talk about light gathering power! This Flat6AIII allows for an even and flat field within your images and effectively reduces the focal length from 478mm to 380mm. For easy installation, its M63 threads allow direct threading to the Gran Turismo 81mm, while its 2” threads fit to your camera! There is even space within the reducer to add a M48 filter. Set up made easy!

I have a small dob that I got last year for visual. I decided to get into astrophotography in January 2021. I ordered this scope with the WO Flat6AIII and the WO T-mount to use with my Nikon D780 (and a bunch of other things). I got it before the EQ6-R mount I ordered, so I threw on my tripod to do some really short exposures of M42 since it doesn

‘t need much. I was pretty happy with the results and excited to get it on a mount. I just recently got my mount. I took some data of M31, M42, and the horsehead and flame nebula. I’ve been really happy with the detail and the ease of use of the scope. The built in Bahtinov mask on the scope lens cap really helps with focusing. The dual speed focuser is also really smooth and easy to focus. As my first refractor and first astrophotography scope, I couldn’t be happier. The soft case is nice and has a cutout in the foam for a guide scope, too. Overall I’ve been really impressed by the offerings from William Optics. My first image with the scope and mount is on Astrobin now, user name Corvik, and I’m really happy with the results with only being two months into the hobby.
