This bracket works okay. I wanted the Explore Scientific RACI finder with the AA battery instead of the hard to find (and expensive) button cell option so many brands thought was the new wave since the 1990s. To attach it I ordered this bracket that can also accept Vixen dovetail items instead of the older ES FNDRBASE-ESSEN that only accepts the E
S T shaped dovetail. Future proof? Anyway, you can see the larger set screws have a 3mm plastic nib to avoid scratching the dovetail item but on mine the holes are drilled several mms too low and the screw doesn’t line up with the triangular slot in the receiving dovetail. That means the screw can’t get seated let alone turn enough to hold anything. I had to chop off 2mm of the 3 on each large screw’s plastic nib in order to get them to seat. I expect to see scratches on my dovetails but that’s no different than the old days with no nibs or brass protectors. You might consider just ordering the finder, removing the entire ES rings if you can, and buying third party rings with standard Vixen mounts. If you already have the old ES mount screwed on to your scope then this should be able to use the same holes.
If you plan to save money by using one finder on multiple scopes be aware how much you hand tighten the mounting screws could change the alignment each time.
The lack of precision needed with finders in general should make this a perfectly suitable mount.
