Sony IMX585 CMOS Sensor
Utilizing Sony’s STARVIS 2 technology, this ASI585MC features a back illuminated Sony IMX585 sensor for magnificent photon collection. Its high sensitivity to near infrared light and ultra-low readout noise of 0.8e results in an excellent signal to noise ratio within the frames captured. The large full well capacity of 40Ke, remarkable peak QE of 91%, and small 2.9um pixel size allows for images brimming with clarity and detail. This 1/1.2” sensor provides a resolution of 3840×2160, making this an 8.29MP planetary camera!
Electronic Highlights
Careful circuitry within this camera body provides useful advantages while imaging. In typical CMOS sensors, weak infrared light from the camera itself is allowed to leak into the captured frames. This amp glow is highly temperature dependent, and on uncooled cameras, it can prove to be difficult to perfectly match the temperature of the dark frames with the light frames for accurate image calibration. The ASI585MC was designed to eliminate amp glow all together no matter how long the exposure is, making post processing much easier! Also included is the 256MB DDR3 memory buffer. This added 256MB of internal memory significantly reduces the buffer time of image transfer, allowing for the high frame rate of 46.9FPS at full 8.29MP resolution.

Two modes of connection are available on the ASI585MC. Connect your camera to your computer through the USB3.0 for fast, reliable data transfer with its large 5GB bandwidth. You can also utilize the exceptional sensitivity for your guiding needs! Either through the USB3.0 port or the ST4 port, improve the tracking accuracy of your telescope mount with the ASI585MC camera.
