By cutting through light pollution with the Apertura Moon & Skyglow Filter, more details can be resolved that may have otherwise been much tougher to see! Under favorable atmospheric conditions, Jupiter’s Great Red Spot should be more defined, surface details on Mars are intensified, and the Cassini Division on Saturn can be seen with more clarity. The Apertura Moon & Skyglow filter blocks out a wide band of wavelengths to improve contrast. As such, these inherent light blocking abilities means filter stacking is not recommended with this accessory.

This Apertura 2” Moon & Skyglow Filter is mounted within a sturdy filter cell, and seamlessly incorporates into your visual set up for high contrast views. Simply thread it onto the bottom of your 2” eyepiece, or any 1.25″ to 2″ adapter that is threaded for 2″ filters, then insert your eyepiece into your visual back or diagonal, and you’re ready to go! This filter has been optimized for eyepieces that provide an exit pupil of 2mm or larger when viewing the fainter deep sky targets.
