Askar 1x Field Flattener for 120APO Triplet Refractor

This 1x field flattener from Askar corrects the 120APO for field curvature and coma. This results in flatter field edges and finer star points during astrophotography, without altering the system’s focal ratio.

The 1.0x flattener adopts a triplet design and supports a 44 mm full-frame image circle. The weight is just under 2 pounds. The back focus from the M48 thread is a standard 55 mm. The front thread is M84x1. At the camera end, it is equipped with M54x0.75 and M48x0.75 adapters, which are convenient for connection. At the same time, it has an internal M48x0.75 2-inch filter thread to accept 2-inch filters for astrophotography. The CNC machined metal dust caps at each end of the flattener prevent dust and protect the optics when not in use.

Installation: Step One
Installation of the 1x flattener on the Askar 120APO is a simple, two-step process. Begin by unscrewing the 2″ and 1.25″ adapters on the 120APO.

Installation: Step Two
Next, unscrew and remove the dust cap from the 1x flattener. Then insert and screw the flattener into the back of the 120APO.
