Francis K. Verified Buyer –
Once it’s up and running, this thing is great. The ability to switch filters without touching anything makes aligning your images a breeze, and the ability to do it via software means you can stay nice and warm inside while running your rig remotely 🙂 I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and not once have I had an issue with it not responding
to a command, selecting the wrong filter, or moving a filter partially into place. It just works.
As with most things in astrophotography, it will take some trial and error to get up and running. You’ll need to find and install the appropriate ASCOM software and driver, and nowhere does it seem to be documented what the thread sizes are on either end of the filter wheel, which makes connecting it to your imaging train a matter of guesswork until you figure out what’s right. A 2″ adapter is included, which turned out to be all I needed. That adapter will add extra length to your imaging train, so you’ll want to be sure your scope’s backfocus can handle being pushed a little further. It’s also heavier than you might expect; make sure your mount can handle a few more pounds.
All in all however it’s a solid, reliable piece of equipment, and I’m quite happy with it.
