A Faster and Wider Field from Your Celestron SCT!
Celestron’s SCT telescopes are incredibly popular choices for those look to
explore the universe up close through an eyepiece, however these compelling
compound scopes can excel at more than just that! With the Celestron f/6.3
Focal Reducer Corrector for SCT Telescopes, your scope will see more of the
sky in a brighter light than before. Transform your observation instrument
into a dedicated imaging telescope or simply give it a wider visual
perspective with this excellent add-on!
Celestron SCTs offer longer focal lengths by default for great views of the
Moon, planets, and a variety of other celestial objects. With this accessory
however you can fill in more, whether that be for more expansive views or more
speed and correction for imaging! By helping correct the small amount of field
curvature inherent to the SCT optical design, the Celestron f/6.3 Focal
Reducer Corrector for SCT Telescopes is perfect for transforming your visual
scope into an astrophotography optimized platform! With a 0.63x focal
reduction your SCT will be 37% faster, providing a noticeable increase to both
your field of view
and image brightness. This allows you to take a popular scope like
the 6SE or 8SE from a cropped view of the Pleiades, to capturing this star
cluster in the stock 25 mm eyepiece!
Converting Your Celestron SCT is Simple!
While the Celestron f/6.3 Focal Reducer Corrector for SCT Telescopes has
backspacing that differs from most other telescopes and corrective elements,
converting your SCT and properly spacing your camera is not a complicated
process! All you’ll need is a T-Adapter like the
Apertura Ultimate SCT T-Adapter, and a T-Ring for your camera like the
Apertura Canon EF Ultimate T-Ring
or
Nikon F Ultimate T-Ring (Adapter and Rings sold separately). Start by removing the visual back and diagonal from your SCT. Thread
the f/6.3 Focal Reducer Corrector on to the place where the visual back was
installed, and then connect your T-Adapter. From here all you need to do
is connect a photography camera with the T-Ring installed, or a dedicated
astro camera set up for 55 mm of back focus, and you’re ready to go! If you
plan on using the telescope visually, simply connect the visual back to the
corrector reducer and reinstall your diagonal.
Create Two Scopes in One with this Quality Reducer Corrector
With quality optical reduction, construction, and known compatibility with the popular Celestron SCT line of telescopes, this accessory feels like it gives you a whole new scope. Add a virtual second scope to your collection with the Celestron f/6.3 Focal Reducer Corrector!
Fast Focal Reduction
With it’s 0.63x reduction the
Celestron f/6.3 Focal Reducer Corrector for SCT Telescopes takes Celestron’s
line of f/10 and f/11 SCTs to f/6.3 and f/7 respectively. This equates to a
37% increase in speed allowing your SCT to not just provide a wider, better
corrected, view of deep sky objects, but also a brighter image as well. That
means more astrophotography signal in the same amount of time or more visual
details revealed through your eyepiece!
Please Note: While this reducer corrector improves field curvature to
provide great astrophotography performance, it does not eliminate it.
Quality Construction
Celestron has built this reducer
corrector for durability as well as performance! The fully multi-coated lens
is housed in a machined aluminum housing featuring a black anodized finish
and sharp orange printing. For maximum contrast and performance, the
internal surfaces have been blackened and glare-threaded to help catch
unwanted light from reaching your gear. Finally a heavily textured grip
section on the exterior has been added to make installation and removal
easy!
Confirmed Compatibility
The f/6.3 Focal Reducer
Corrector is compatible with all Non-EdgeHD Celestron SCT telescopes,
from 5″ up to 14″. This includes the popular
Celestron NexStar 6SE Computerized Telescope
and
NexStar 8SE Schmidt-Cassegrain Computerized Telescope. EdgeHD SCT, Maksutov-Cassegrain, Newtonian, and Refractor telescopes from
Celestron are not supported.
Please Note: On 11″ and 14″ Celestron SCT models, this reducer corrector
connects to the reducer plate.
