This off axis guider from Celestron is the perfect companion for their
excellent EdgeHD line of SCTs, as well as a solid option for long back focal
length telescopes! Housed in its sturdy frame are two 360° rotators and a
high quality helical focuser, which help overcome some of the common issues
with OAGs; providing you with the tools you need to find and focus stars into
your auto-guider! With a premium feature set like this it is easy to take your
experience to the next level and eliminate the mis-alignments, separate dew
heaters, extra focusing, and additional bulk of an external guiding solution!
Helping you hit the ground running is a number of different adapters and
spacers, as well as a number of system diagrams for Celestron’s popular EdgeHD
SCT telescopes.
Excellent EdgeHD Solution
The Celestron OAG Off Axis Guider is an excellent add-on for longer backfocus
scopes such as the incredible
EdgeHD series! Adding this autoguiding accessory to your Celestron EdgeHD can seem
daunting, but with just a bit of guidance your setup will be honed in no time!
Using the included OAG adapters, the spacers or T-ring needed to set your
camera at 55 mm,
Celestron Large SCT and EdgeHD Adapter V2 for Off-Axis Guider
(sold separately) if you’re using an EdgeHD 925 or larger, and the charts
below, you can set up your imaging train — no calculations required!
Robust Guiding Solution
The Celestron OAG Off Axis Guider features a number of adapters and precise
tuning controls to help dial in your autoguiding solution!
Adaptable Out of the Box
This OAG can fit in to a
number of different imaging trains out of the box thanks to a healthy number
of included adapters. With the Celestron OAG Off Axis Guider you receive an
SCT adapter, male M42 adapter, male M48 adapter, female M42 adapter, female
M48 adapter, a set of T-thread spacers (6 mm, 11.55 mm, 24.25 mm), and a
11.55 mm M48 spacer. These adapters will have your EdgeHD 800 series scope
and a DSLR and T-ring or a dedicated astro camera with 55 mm spacers working
from the get-go, with EdgeHD 925 and up covered with this kit and the
Celestron Large SCT and EdgeHD Adapter V2 for Off-Axis Guider
(sold separately). This adapter set can additionally be used to build
imaging trains with many uncorrected imaging trains. For non-EdgeHD
telescopes using correctors, such Celestron SCTs with the
Celestron f/6.3 Focal Reducer Corrector for SCT Telescopes
or corrective elements designed for 55 mm back focus, you may need separate

has a focused and clear view of a star without impacting your imaging
camera’s view into the night sky has been made simple on the Celestron OAG
Off Axis Guider! With independent 360° rotation on both the telescope
and camera connections, positioning the multi-coated 12.5 mm pick-off prism exactly where
you need it is as simple as loosen, twist, and re-tighten! Finding focus is
similarly straight-forward, with a helical focuser sporting 8 mm of
adjustment, a focus lock/unlock thumbscrew, and a combination 1.25″ barrel
connection & M42/T-threads guide camera connection.
