The Perfect Solution for Urban Imaging!
Light pollution is an ever increasing issue, making it difficult for astrophotographers within urban environments to collect detail on deep space objects within the night sky. Designed for enhancing nebulosity from light polluted environments, this Optolong L-eNhance filter effectively blocks unwanted light from street lamps and other urban sources! Key nebulous wavelengths, H-Alpha, H-Beta, and Oxygen III, are effectively isolated with a high transmission of up to 90%, revealing nebulosity with stunning clarity. With its premium build and versatile design, this Optolong L-eNhance is engineered for excellence!
A game changer for astrophotographers, this versatile dual-bandpass filter helps you reveal stunning detail on emission nebulae. Its precision off-band blocking minimizes unwanted light interference for beautiful contrast and clarity. It’s ideal for use with DSLR, mirrorless, and dedicated astronomy cameras, and its 2” design provides exceptional detail from corner to corner. Housed within a highly durable, threaded metal filter cell, and featuring high quality coatings, this L-eNhance is built to last. With this Optolong L-eNhance, you’re set up for success!
A High Performance Astrophotography Filter of the Utmost Quality
Let’s Take a Deeper Look!
What sets one filter apart from another? Which filter is best for me? When developing a filter, manufacturers provide a chart that represents the wavelengths permitted through this filter. This gives insight into the filter’s performance, and what it can help you achieve. So, how exactly do I read a transmission chart? Our team has put together a comprehensive article, to help you understand the fundamentals on How to Read a Transmission Chart. Check out the article and feel more confident about choosing the right filter for your needs!

Magnificent Detail on Emission Nebulae
Hydrogen is the most abundant element in our universe, with the hydrogen-alpha line emitting a wavelength of 656.3 nm and hydrogen-beta of 486.1 nm. These emission lines are predominant within emission nebulae, along with the OIII emission lines of 495.9 nm and 500.7 nm. By isolating the H-alpha and OIII wavelengths with bandpasses of 12 nm and 24 nm, respectively, and blocking out undesired wavelengths, beautiful detail on the Orion Nebula, the Veil Nebula, the Lagoon Nebula, and a plethora of other emission nebulae are revealed!
Effortless Integration
With 2” in diameter, this Optolong L-eNhance completely covers full frame sensors, providing even illumination from corner to corner. The slim metal housing with M48 x 0.75 threads allows for seamless integration into your imaging train through a filter drawer, filter wheel, or direct connection to your telescope. This design offers compatibility with almost any system, providing ease of installation and a secure fit.
Built With Quality in Mind
This Optolong L-eNhance filter is composed of high quality, 1.85mm thick B270 glass with a surface quality of 60/40. Multiple layers of anti-reflective, non-cementing optical substrate coatings ensure the utmost performance. These coatings are applied using Ion-assisted deposition coating technology for increased durability and scratch resistance, as well as stability on the central wavelength (CWL). With an all-metal housing, this filter provides incredible durability when mounted within your imaging train.
