Automatic Focusing For Your SCT and RASA with the FocusCube Zero!
The addition of an electronic focuser greatly enhances your astrophotography experience by providing ease of use and convenience. Changes in temperature throughout imaging sessions causes the body of your telescope to expand or contract, shifting the focal point of your optics. For the sharpest possible photos, it’s recommended to refocus your telescope periodically throughout the night. Having to conduct the entire manual focusing routine over and over during long overnight imaging sessions, especially in cold weather, can prove to be wearisome. Equipping your set up with an electronic focuser eliminates this stress and does the hard work for you! Most motorized focusers on the market aren’t adaptable to Schmidt–Cassegrains (SCT) or Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrographs (RASA), but thanks to the ingenuity from Pegasus Astro, this FocusCube Zero allows automated focus for these types of telescopes. Installation is simple, and software finds the perfect focus in no time! Select how often you’d like this focuser to perform its routine for maximum image quality.
With a bracket crafted specifically for Celestron Schmidt–Cassegrain telescopes, the FocusCube Zero provides SCT users the ability to automate their focusing routines. The smooth, quick focusing and perfect V-Curves are a result of the onboard bipolar stepper motor, the absence of a reduction gearbox, and zero backlash. Including a wide range of software compatibility, control this focuser with systems supported by ASCOM, INDI drivers, or with the Pegasus Astro Unity Platform. The added temperature probe works in conjunction with your software to determine the best times to refocus your telescope throughout your night of imaging. Wanting a more manual approach in controlling your focuser? Attach the FocusCube Hand Controller (not included) for operation without the need for software. Important Note: Not suitable for use with all available controllers including the Pegasus Dual Motor Focus Controller. The RJ45 port located on the back is for the hand controller or included temperature sensor probe only. Never connect the RJ45 port to the Ultimate Powerbox RJ45 Stepper Output.
Simple & Effortless Installation
The focusing shafts on Schmidt–Cassegrain telescopes are slightly different to those on other types of telescopes. With this in mind, Pegasus Astro has designed their FocusCube Zero specifically for SCTs! This focuser uses an easy-to-install pulley system to bring your optics into focus. Simply attach the FocusCube Zero around your focusing shaft, connect one of the pulleys to the focusing shaft, then join the two pulleys with the included belt. This FocusCube Zero features a bore diameter of 13mm and has been designed to fit 6″ – 9.25″ Celestron SCTs, 8″ & 9.25″ EdgeHDs, or 8″ RASA.
Extensive Software Control
Supporting INDI and ASCOM platforms, utilize any image capture software that incorporates these drivers such as NINA, Sequence Generator Pro, and many more! You can also control this focuser through the Pegasus Astro Unity Platform, an all-in-one application designed to operate all current and future Pegasus Astro products. With its support for firmware upgrades, constant customer feedback to Pegasus Astro aids in keeping this focuser future-proof.
Please Note: Pegasus Astro states that their Unity software suite currently does not work with Windows machines equipped with the Snapdragon line of CPUs.
