Automatic Focusing For Your SCT with the FocusCube Zero!
Throughout imaging sessions, shifts in temperature cause the focal point in your telescope to change its position, requiring periodic refocusing. Adding an electronic focuser automates your focusing routine, letting you find the perfect focus in no time! Software analyzes the field of view and communicates with the motors within the electronic focuser to bring your telescope into precise focus. Thanks to the ingenuity from Pegasus Astro, this FocusCube Zero brings this capability to users of Schmidt–Cassegrains (SCT)! Installation is simple, and set how often you’d like to refocus your optics for the sharpest possible photos.
The FocusCube Zero has a built-in bracket specifically designed for Celestron Schmidt–Cassegrain telescopes. Quick focusing and perfect V-Curves are a result of the onboard bipolar stepper motor, the absence of a reduction gearbox, and zero backlash. Pegasus Astro has included a wide range of software compatibility allowing you to control this focuser with ASCOM, INDI drivers, or with the Pegasus Astro Unity Platform. The added temperature probe works in conjunction with your software to determine the best times to refocus your telescope throughout your night of imaging. Wanting a more manual approach in controlling your focuser? Attach the FocusCube Hand Controller (not included) for operation without the need for software. Important Note: Not suitable for use with all available controllers including the Pegasus Dual Motor Focus Controller. The RJ45 port located on the back is for the hand controller or included temperature sensor probe only. Never connect the RJ45 port to the Ultimate Powerbox RJ45 Stepper Output.
Simple & Effortless Installation
Schmidt–Cassegrain telescopes have a focusing shaft that requires a special bracket design that’s typically unavailable with most standard electronic focusers. With this in mind, Pegasus Astro has designed their FocusCube Zero specifically for SCTs! This focuser utilizes an easy-to-install pulley system to bring your optics into focus. Simply attach the FocusCube Zero around your focusing shaft, connect one of the pulleys to the focusing shaft, then join the two pulleys with the included belt. This FocusCube Zero features a bore diameter of 22mm and has been designed to fit Celestron Classic & Edge 11″ telescopes.
Extensive Software Control
Supporting INDI and ASCOM platforms, utilize any image capture software that incorporates these drivers such as NINA, Sequence Generator Pro, and many more! You can also control this focuser through the Pegasus Astro Unity Platform, an all-in-one application designed to operate all current and future Pegasus Astro products. With its support for firmware upgrades, constant customer feedback to Pegasus Astro aids in keeping this focuser future-proof.
Please Note: Pegasus Astro states that their Unity software suite currently does not work with Windows machines equipped with the Snapdragon line of CPUs.
