Automate Your Focus with the QHY High Precision QFocuser!
Adding an electronic focuser to your astrophotography set up greatly enhances your experience through ease of use and convenience. During imaging sessions, shifts in temperature cause the body of your telescope to expand or contract, altering the focal point of your optics. Because of this change in temperature, it’s recommended to refocus your telescope throughout your night of imaging for sharp stars in every frame. If you are still manually focusing your telescope, having to go through the whole focusing process over again can prove to be wearisome, especially in cold weather and long imaging sessions. Eliminating this stress is an electronic focuser, automating your set up and doing the hard work for you! Installation is simple, and software easily finds the precise focal point of your telescope. Set how often you’d like this QHY High Precision QFocuser to perform its focusing routine for the sharpest images possible!
Weighing only 0.58lbs (256g) and with a size comparable to a ping pong ball, this compact focuser is small but mighty! It delivers focusing for a max payload of up to 16.5 pounds (7.5 kg), offering great versatility of imaging equipment. In most cases, the onboard USB TypeC-5V offers enough power for your focusing needs, though a 12V DC port is included for heavier imaging trains. Compared to the QFocuser Standard version, this High Precision QFocuser has added benefits for an enhanced experience. The non-reducing motor offers almost zero backlash and still allows you to manually focus your telescope, even without power! The installation process is quick and simple, and the provided couplers and tools allow you to affix this to a wide range of popular telescopes. Control this QFocuser with your favorite ASCOM compatible software or Linux platforms for thorough management of this focuser’s capabilities. The included temperature sensor helps you determine the best times to refocus your optics to maximize your image quality.
Easy Installation and Extensive Compatibility
Installing an electronic focuser may seem confusing and complex at first, but no need to fret! The process is simple and straightforward. The QFocuser takes the place of your dual speed adjustment knobs and electronically controls focus through this connection. Simply remove the dual speed adjustment focusing knobs, attach the appropriate coupler that fits around the focusing shaft, then attach the QFocuser to the coupler. The included mounting plate secures everything in place! Four different coupler sizes are provided with this electronic focuser: 5-2.5mm, 5-3mm, 5-4mm, 5-5mm (Note: the smaller couplers feature a single screw clamping design rather than the multi-screw connection pictured). One side of the coupler attaches to the focuser itself, while the other side fits around the focusing shaft of your telescope. Unsure if these couplers will fit your telescope? You can easily check by first removing the appropriate focusing knobs. Next, take the diameter of the focusing shaft and compare it to the couplers provided to determine compatibility with your telescope. Suitable with a wide range of telescopes from Apertura, SharpStar, Askar, William Optics, Sky-Watcher, and more, this electronic focuser makes the perfect addition to almost any set up!
In-Depth Software Control
Offering use with Linux platforms and Windows through the ASCOM control interface, see the incredible potential of this electronic focuser. The ASCOM driver offers multiple behavior aspects such as position options and limits, as well as advanced functions including Keep Force and temperature readings. Popular image capture software like NINA or Astro Photography Tool are great choices for operation, and this QHY QFocuser fully supports firmware upgrades.
High Presion Power
The High Precision QFocuser version includes a non-reducing motor that allows manual focus even when the focuser isn’t powered. This addition lets you enjoy the incredible benefits of an electronic focuser without having to lose manual control of your telescope! If a focusing system contains mechanical gears, the backlash it produces results in less than ideal performance. Through its non-reducing motor, this focuser operates without mechanical reducing gears, meaning the backlash is almost zero! Thanks to QHY, enjoy smooth focusing and incredible accuracy throughout your imaging sessions.
