Apertura Moon & Skyglow 2″ Filter
Designed to provide a solution to light pollution and provide enhanced contrast, the Apertura 2″ Moon & Skyglow filter is an excellent addition to this upgrade kit. The filter works by blocking out the surrounding street lights, house lights, and other forms of artificial light. It will also reduce the effects of the natural light from the Moon. While it blocks these certain wavelengths, it will still preserve the transmission of light from celestial objects. This will ultimately enhance your views. This 2″ filter from Apertura is particularly useful for observing bright sky objects, and can even reveal higher definition within the cloud bands of Jupiter. And that’s just one example. The filter is made with Schott B270 glass and precision Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) coatings, allowing it to deliver the utmost transmission of the desired wavelengths, and it is mounted in a sturdy threaded filter cell for durability.

Apertura 2″ Filter Holder
The Apertura 2″ Filter Holder has been specifically designed to work with the Seestar Smart Telescope. This filter holder is CNC machined out of 6061aluminum and finished with a durable bead-blasted oxide. Fitted to work with 2″ (M48) filters, this solid accessory provides a simple solution for adding filters to your Seestar! The design of the filter holder is meant to blend well with the Seestar’s sleek body, while providing you more options for possible targets to image through your scope. All you need to do to mount this handy tool is thread on the 2″ filter and then insert it into the objective lens, just like you would the stock solar filter that comes with the original Seestar purchase. Then, you are ready to go! Adding this to your Seestar does not change how your Seestar functions or how it is controlled via your smartphone.

Apertura SeeStar Aluminum Dust Cover
We have included this practical tool in this kit because protection of your optics is an incredibly important part of the astronomy. Apertura has designed this aluminum dust cover to work with the Seestar and prevent dust and particulates from accumulating on your objective lens. To connect the aluminum dust cover, all you need to do is insert it into the objective lens, just like you would the filter holder detailed above. The dust cover is CNC machined out of 6061 aluminum as well. This design will seamlessly blend into the the Seestar aesthetics and remain in place as you open and close the Seestar smart telescope. To remove the aluminum dust cover, all you need to do is utilize the wide tab to lift the cover out, and you are ready to go!
