The Askar 80PHQ Quadruplet Refracting Astrograph uses a 3+1 optical design
as the core of its astrograph abilities! Featuring two ED elements, this
quadruplet set of optics offer well color corrected, sharp, and flat images
— no additional flattener required. With this optical arrangement you
additionally do not need to calculate backfocus; as long you can reach focus
with your spacers or T-ring, your camera will be receiving the best
correction this scope has to offer! With a 44 mm image circle, these
excellent optics can illuminate up to a full-frame sensor. All of this makes
achieving incredible results with the 80PHQ simple!

3″ Rack and Pinion Focuser
Providing a large window into this telescope’s 80mm optics is a 3″ rack and
pinion focuser! This sizeable focuser allows for threaded accessories with
connections ranging from the common M48 for the majority of astro/
photography cameras, to the large and dual sensor astro camera friendly M54,
to the massive M68 thread — all of which can be attached to this
focuser’s included adapters! Supporting these stout accessories is a rack
and pinion, which can effortlessly and precisely move your equipment thanks
to its pairing with a smooth 10:1 dual-speed mechanism! This focuser is also
ready for modern imaging accessories, with bracket-style electronic focuser
attachment points to make mounting popular automated options like the
ZWO Standard Electronic Automatic Focuser
easy!

The
full-frame reducer from Askar
(sold separately) is specially designed to for this scope, providing you
with the optimal 80PHQ speed increase solution! With a 0.76x reduction
factor, this corrective element turns the respectable f/7.5 stock focal
ratio into a quicker f/5.7 ratio that will provide notably brighter results.
This triplet-design reducer will also widen your horizons, expanding the
original 600 mm focal length out to 456 mm that can put larger targets in
your crosshairs. This reducer additionally retains the 80PHQ’s built in
filter cell functionality, with its own 2″ threaded filter cell that will
allow you to further enhance your view of deep sky objects!

Included Accessories
Askar has included a number of core accessories with the 80PHQ Quadruplet
Refracting Astrograph to ensure this is astrophotography rig ready
out-of-the-box! For connecting the scope to your mount and adding your
supporting accessories the 80PHQ includes a set of tube rings connected to
an 11.6″ V-style dovetail and convenient carry handle, as well as a
Synta-style finder shoe. Ensuring you can connect a wide variety of cameras
and other imaging train equipment, a set of 4 focuser adapters have been
included: an M76 to M68, an M68 to M54x0.75, and M54x0.75 to M48x0.75 (with
2″ threaded filter cell) adapter are included, along with one M54x0.75
extension tube. Finally, a camera rotator has been built-in, allowing you to
quickly and easily adjust your framing on the fly!
