QHY533C Cooled Color
CMOS Camera
This new generation cooled, color camera from QHYCCD is full of great features, allowing for superb astrophotography. The color model of the 533 uses a threaded interface to connect to the QHY small filter wheel, and also supports Nikon and Canon lens adapters to achieve infinity focus.
Sony IMX355C Sensor
The QHY533C is a back-illuminated CMOS camera, sporting the Sony IMX533C sensor. This allows for zero amplifier glow with low noise and high sensitivity. At 9 megapixels, the 11.29 mm square sensor provides 3003 x 3003 pixels at 3.76um.
Back-Illuminated CMOS
Illuminating camera sensors from the front can reduce efficiency, as the illumination structure can inadvertently deflect photons. Illuminating the sensor from the rear allows for the photosensitive surface to absorb the maximum possible photons. This increases the performance and efficiency (QE) of the camera, as well as increases its full well capacity.
Environmental Features
Environmental features of this camera include dual-stage TE cooling and a proprietary QHY technology allowing for the lowest possible dark current (less than 1/1000th of an electron at -20C). Anti-dew and anti-frost protection has been integrated into the camera body, with built-in dew heaters at the optical window, a humidity- and condensation-protected chamber, and an electric heating board for the chamber window.
Other Features
The QHY 533 color features significantly reduced amplifier glow, regardless of exposure length. The image buffer is large and fast, with 1 gigabyte of DDR3 memory. This produces 27 frames per second in 8-bit mode and 18 frames in 16-bit mode. In addition, this camera can output in true RAW mode from the original signal only, without any noise reduction or hot pixel removal. This provides the highest quality image for post-production in image processing software.
Lastly, the QHY533C comes with adapter kit E1, which provides 55 mm of backfocus and an M48 interface.
