High Resolution Sony IMX294CJK Sensor
The onboard 11.7-megapixel Sony IMX294CJK sensor allows the ZWO ASI294MC Pro to utilize a 4/3 aspect ratio format, providing the necessary amount of pixels needed for true 4k output at 120fps. The back illumination of the Sony IMX294CJK allows for incredible sensitivity to the photons collected, resulting in a high quantum efficiency of 75% and low readout noise of 1.2e, improving upon the signal to noise ratio (SNR) immensely! This large sensor offers a high resolution of 4144×2822, and with its remarkable full well capacity of 63700e, bright stars are able to be imaged without saturating. The ASI294MC Pro also features a 14bit ADC, a high dynamic range of 13 stops, and a pixel size of 4.63um, resulting in exceptionally detailed and clear images!
