The ZWO ASI461MM Pro camera has a native 16-bit ADC with 65536 levels. It also boasts a back-illuminated structure and a high quantum efficiency. Coupled with the very low readout noise and the nearly zero visible fixed-pattern noise, you can rest assured that you will get a first-rate performance from this cooled ASI ZWO camera. While traditional CMOS sensors produce a weak infrared light source during use, the ZWO ASI461MM Pro monochrome camera uses zero amp glow circuitry. This means you do not have to worry about amp glow when you are doing high gain, long exposure astro-imaging. The ASI461Mono camera comes with USB3.0 compatibility, so you will have a high frame download speed while avoiding any data loss during downloads. The included USB2.0 hub comes with two USB2.0 ports that can be used for connecting to the driving chamber.

3.4″ CMOS Sony-IMX461ALR-C Sensor
The ZWO ASI461MM Pro camera utilizes the Sony IMX461ALR-C large CMOS sensor. The size of this Sony sensor measures 44 mm x 33 mm with a high resolution of 11,656 x 8750. This means this is a 100MP cooled camera! The 3.76um pixel size enables the camera to accommodate a full well capacity of 50.3Ke. When in Bin2 mode, the camera can reach an even bigger full well capacity of 198Ke and a pixel size of 7.5um x 7.5um. Also included within the innovative design of the ASI461MM Pro is a high conversion gain mode (HCG) that automatically kicks in at a gain setting of 100, reducing read noise while simultaneously preserving the dynamic range during high gain imaging.
Electronic Highlights
Sitting on the top of the protective window, the ASI461MM Pro camera comes with a polyimide heater. When in use, this heater will heat the window to avoid any accumulation of dew, so you can ensure that pesky humidity doesn’t get in the way of capturing crisp celestial images. The power consumption of the polyimide heater is about 5W which can be turned off to conserve power if needed. The ZWO ASI461MM Pro camera comes with a two-stage TEC cooling system, allowing the ASI461 camera to precisely control the temperature of the sensor, lowering it to 30~35°C below ambient temperature. By cooling your camera, dark current and senor noise are greatly reduced resulting in cleaner, sharper images. Rest assured knowing every frame captured is secured with the onboard 512MB DDR3 memory cache, preserving your data until it is safely relayed to your computer.
Power and Ports
Powering your ASI461MM Pro requires an external power adapter through the DV 12V port. We recommend the Apertura Universal 5 Amp AC Adapter to get the job done. The integrated USB3.0 allows for quick and reliable data transmission to your computer through its large 5Gb bandwidth. Wanting to add additional accessories such as an electronic filter wheel or electronic auto focuser? The USB2.0 hub makes it easy to connect two extra accessories to your imaging set up!
