While there is a lot to like about the Schmidt-Cassegrain and Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph telescopes from Celestron, their large corrector plate (inherent to the SCT design) does make them more prone to dew formation than other telescope designs. This is where a dew shield comes in, allowing SCT and RASA owners to gain the dew protection of other telescope designs while keeping all the optical performance they love – and in some cases even improving it! With its long cone built for insulating the corrector plate, the Apertura 11″ SCT and RASA Dew Shield can additionally benefit those in areas where stray light from street lights or houses is a concern, by blocking this off-axis light from entering the optics and degrading the view/ image.

The Apertura 11″ SCT and RASA Dew Shield is known to fit the following telescope from Celestron. In addition to the specific models listed below, the Apertura 11″ SCT Dew Shield fits most other 11″ Celestron SCTs and RASAs. Please note – while models with single dovetails or Vixen style dovetails will not fill the dual notches on this dew shield, this does not effect functionality!
