   I’ve been away from astronomy for a long while and I’m not as strong as I was in the days when I imaged using hypered Tri-X film. The iOptron CEM 40EC was a perfect weight for me and it offered a pretty good payload. The included printout of the periodic error was encouraging: it was almost flat! Living in the northeast there have been exactly zer

   o days with useful clear skies since I got it, so my experience so far is based on bench testing. I haven’t had any problems updating the firmware or connecting to my ASIAIR Plus. I found attaching the mount to the tripod to be fiddly, and I puzzled over the business decision to ship it with very low altitude mode as standard. Changing wasn’t difficult but still. My package included the aluminum hard case, 1.75” tripod, and the iPolar camera. So with little actual experience under the sky, I am so far 100% pleased with my purchase. High Point shipped very quickly and everything arrived in good shape.
