Charles R. Verified Buyer –
I am a new hobbyist and I already had an old (really old!) Nikon camera. I bought this mount because I wanted one that had enough capacity that I could grow into it, I think 28 pounds is a great starting point. I am an iPad user for doing stuff like this so I did not get the iPolar version as I chose instead to buy the ASIAIR mini for only slightl
y more and I paired those together to get started with my camera – eventually I will buy a scope from here to replace my camera telephoto lens. This mount was easy to set up and the case is nice if you do not intend to leave it on the tripod (I do not like leaving any weight on it when I am not using it). The built in polar scope is so so but I don’t use it in favor of the ASI. I put my first two astro-photos below using just this mount and a Nikon d300 camera with a 70-300 telephoto lens (and the ASI controlling it).
