Despite having mostly cloudy days (therefore limited time using it), so far I’m very pleased with this mount. It is light enough to manage and easy to set up, and this beefy rig holds my gear easily. The Literoc tripod is a sturdy beast. The only issue I’ve yet to resolve is the Wifi connection. When I try to connect to the mount, the mount’s inte
grated Wifi disconnects my server, and although my laptop shows the mount is now connected via the mount’s own network, I have no internet connection to it. I’m sure it’s operator error, and I’ll contact High Point (or Ioptron) if I can’t figure this glitch out.
I chose the GEM28 over others because I own its little brother Skyguider Pro, which I love, and figured the transition to the GEM28 would be easier. Aside from the Wifi issue, I’m happy with it so far despite its limited use. I’ll update once I get some real time on it!
