Apertura has designed this focuser to be fully compatible with motorized EAFs directly out of the box!
The upgraded R&P focuser is also specifically designed for the Apertura CarbonStar
150 Imaging Newtonian and easily replaces the factory Crayford
focuser with just two fasteners and the included hex key! This makes
attaching the focuser to your OTA and then an EAF quick and hassle-free, so you can get out under the stars
faster!

Rack and Pinion Design
This focuser from Apertura offers precise and reliable motion with a rugged design that
ensures consistent performance! Since the tension is preset in the factory,
it has anti-vibration properties that hold adjustments, meaning the focuser requires minimal
maintenance throughout its life! This differs from the
CarbonStar 150 supplied Crayford focuser, which, while it provides very smooth
operation, needs to be adjusted by the user. This upgrade eliminates the guesswork when it comes to setting the focuser’s tension, ensuring you can focus more on imaging and less on set up. Rack & Pinion focusers can also handle
heavier loads, such as large cameras or filter wheels without losing focus
accuracy over a night of imaging! These are perfect upgrades to get more out
of your imaging train.
