The CQ350 Pro mount head joins the ranks of high-quality Sky-Watcher mounts, entering the lineup right between the EQ8-R Pro and the EQ6-R Pro mounts. This Sky-Watcher mount fills the payload gap and will satisfy the astrophotographer looking for a supremely dialed-in, observatory-class mount setup. The mount head comes also comes with a sturdy counterweight bar, and two 22 lb. counterweights, so you have everything you need to mount your user-supplied OTA and accessories right out of the box! The CQ350 mount is capable of easily supporting Sky-Watcher’s largest OTAs, including the Esprit 150ED Triplet refractor (not included). Once the OTA is mounted, you’ll still have the ability to mount your imaging equipment. The mount can do all this and only weighs 33 lb. Talk about an excellent payload capacity ratio! 77 lb. Payload Capacity and Mount Construction
This equatorial mount from Sky-Watcher boasts an impressive 77 lb. (35 kg) payload capacity. The CQ350 Pro all-metal precision internal construction makes the mount body strong and stable, allowing the mount to carry even the largest of OTAs from Sky-Watcher and other manufacturers. The 33 lb. mount head body may be observation-class, but it is light enough to take into the field. It also includes large adjustment knobs, allowing for easy mount position manipulation, even with gloves, so you can get your OTA and accessories exactly where you want them. Also included on the body of the mount is a D-/V-style dovetail mounting platform and a place for an optional polar scope (not included).
Versatile Connection Options
Get ready for a versatile mount connection hub! The Sky-Watcher CQ350 Pro equatorial mount comes with a plethora of connection options in its complete integrated cable management system. The included ports are as follows: four USB3.0 Out ports which sit adjacent to three 2.1 mm central positive Out ports, three AUX Out ports, three Aux In ports, a PC connect USB-to-serial port, a USB3.0 Type B In port, a SNAP port, one power input port, a hand controller port, an autoguider port, and a 12V DC power aircraft cable port for secure power connection. Also included is a V5 SynScan hand controller for GoTo control. This controller contains a 42,000+ object database.
Drive System
Featured in the CQ350 Pro mount is a high-precision, 0.9° hybrid stepper motor, spring-loaded worm gears, synchronous wheel and belt drive modes, and locking clutches for the RA and DEC axes. The belt drive provides minimal backlash and significantly reduces the periodic error while remaining very quiet. This function provides smoother, more accurate tracking, so you can get crisp celestial images.
