Obtain a Wider Field and Faster Exposures for Your Askar 103APO
with This 0.8x Full-Frame Reducer from Askar
This 0.8x reducer from Askar is designed for their 103APO triplet refractor. The 0.8x reducer provides a wider field image for astrophotography, allowing the capture of larger areas of nebulae or star clusters, or to capture faint and fast moving celestial objects.
A Wider Image Field, Faster Exposure Times
This 0.8x reducer brings down the focal ratio of the Askar 103APO to f/5.4. This reducer also acts to flatten the image field, as well, making this optimized for astrophotography.
A Full-Frame Reducer for Astrophotography
This 0.8x reducer from Askar is made for their 103APO triplet refractor. It supports a 44mm, full-frame image circle and weights just over one pound. The reducer itself also sports a three-element (triplet) optical design. The front thread is an M84x1. The camera end of the reducer provides M54x0.75 and M48x0.75 threads, allowing for the connection of a variety of cameras. In addition, an internal M48x0.75 thread allows for the attachment of 2″ threaded filters. Backfocus from the M48 thread is the standard 55 mm. Once installed, the 0.8x reducer changes the focal ratio of the 103APO to f/5.44 and the focal length to 560.32 mm.
Installation Step One
Installation of the 0.8x full-frame reducer to the Askar 103APO is simple. Unscrew and remove the 2″ and 1.25″ adapters. See adjacent illustration.

Originally used 1. 0 reducer and needed faster imaging like my Apertura 71 which use as primary scope. . 8 on 103 delivers same 5. 4 as my 71 with shorter imaging train using asi 533
Now enjoy high resolution images in 700 and 560mm along with 405 using 71, and 250mm with my redcat 51
Seems to be perfect match switching between all
Hi
ghpoint supports them all along with my AM3 with precise guidance
