The schematic diagram of the 150 mm f/2.8 Sharpstar HNT depicts the primary and secondary mirror, as well as the X-shaped strut that holds the secondary mirror in place. The strut, or spider, is fabricated from one piece of metal for stability. Also note that the back focus is a standard 55 mm, making it easier to achieve precise focus with your DSLR, CMOS, or CCD camera.

2.5″ R&P Focuser
The focuser that comes with the Sharpstar 15028HNT is a large, 2.5″ rack-and-pinion dual speed model with coarse and fine adjustment knobs. The focuser has a M48x0.75 thread to accommodate most stock imaging devices as well as adapters such as 48mm T-Rings for your DSLR camera. This Newtonian Astrograph optical tube also includes a Losmandy-style dovetail plate, as well as tube rings with an integrated handle.

Camera Connection is Easy!
As mentioned below, the stock focuser on the 150 mm HNT terminates in M48 x 0.75 threads. If you are using a DSLR, simple attach it to the rear of the focuser with a 48 mm T-ring for your camera model. The schematic shows how to attach a CCD or CMOS camera. Which adapters you require depends on whether you will be adding an OAG or filter wheel, etc. to the optical chain or foregoing those accessories and connecting the astronomy camera as a stand-alone unit.
