Todd P. Verified Buyer –
I purchased this as an upgrade to a FLT132 that I thought was excellent. I wanted a longer FL refractor for imaging, and I liked this scope because it could re-use my 68III flattener from the FLT132. Build quality is excellent as you would expect from WO and the focuser is effectively the same as the FLT132, so my EAF and image train transferred o
ver seamlessly. The only caution – this scope is LONG and does not have blocks to offset it from the mount. On my Mach 2 on a tripod, near the zenith it can hit a tripod leg. On my G11T on a medium height pier it can reach zenith and works great, however the cables on the rear of the camera are only a few inches from the ground. Definitely the longest refractor I can use without making major changes to my setup. Those challenges are rewarded though, as image quality appears excellent (as you would expect). I’ve managed to sneak in one night of mediocre seeing in the miserable weather we’ve had so far this year. I would definitely recommend considering if you are looking for a great quality long FL imaging (or visual) refractor.
