   This dust cap, along with the DC-12 (non-“A” model), were the only such 12″ dust caps I could find in stock anywhere. Kind folks at High Point made one available with the offer they’d refund and pay return shipping if it didn’t fit. Despite a very close resemblance to the Sky Watcher version, the A-DC’s mounting tabs are spaced at about 13-9/16″,

   or about 1/16″ – 1/8″ too wide to fit the Sky Watcher. The A-DC12 uses small felt bumper pads to protect the inner edge of the telescope tube from abrasion, but even with these peeled off, the cap is still too large to fit. There is no practical way I can see to mill down the mounting tabs to the required dimension. If you are an Apertura owner, you should be in luck. The A-DC12 is of good quality, with matching 50mm cap for the small hole (the DC12 is not pictured with this cap). Shipping was quick, price was good, and Highpoint tech support were quite helpful.
