ED Objective Lenses

Chromatic aberration, or color fringing, a visual defect frequently experienced by binocular users, is all but completely eliminated due to the Nature DX’s Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass. Enjoy razor sharp images even at the edges of the view field, as well as vibrant, realistic color.

Not all ED glass is created equal. Celestron’s high quality ED glass delivers visibly brighter, sharper images compared to non-ED binoculars. The difference is especially apparent in low light conditions, such as at dawn or dusk.

Coatings and Prisms

All Nature DX ED binoculars contain fully multi-coated optics. For a binocular to be considered “fully multi-coated”, all interior air-to-glass surfaces need to be coated with multiple anti-reflectivity coating layers. This enables the greatest possible amount of light to pass through to the user’s eye.

Nature DX ED prisms feature high quality BaK-4 glass using phase coatings to allow more light to be transmitted through to the eye by reflecting that light off their internal faces.

The combination of fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms delivers exceptionally bright views with enhanced detail. These features are given a further boost, especially in low light conditions, thanks to ED glass objective lenses.

The Body

Housed in a durable, rubber armored polycarbonate exterior, Nature DX ED binoculars are simultaneously lightweight and resistant to damage. Sturdy twist-up eyecups enable comfortable viewing for both eyeglass and non-eyeglasses wearers alike. Easily find the optimal position for your eye using multiple click-stops. Furthermore, Nature DX ED binoculars are fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to keep all internal lenses from fogging. These binoculars can withstand even the harshest outdoor conditions.
