Take Your Vespera Experience to the Next Level!
The second generation Vespera II has a lot to live up to, and it succeeds! Not only does this Vespera II telescope use a higher resolution sensor, but it provides an bigger field of view! These upgrades along with the original features that made the Vespera smart telescope so popular promise a great observation experience! Learn more about the Vespera II features below!
Upgraded Imaging Sensor
With the Vespera II Smart telescope, it has never been so easy to capture crisp images of the night sky. This simple OTA unlocks complex images by utilizing the Sony IMX585 imaging sensor. When compared to the original Vespera’s Sony IMX462 back-illuminated CMOS sensor, this sensor has an increased resolution of 8.3MP from 2MP. This is increased to 24MP when used with CovalENS! This color sensor utilizes passive cooling for increased performance. It has a sensor format of 1/1.2″, a size of 11.2 x 6.3mm, and pixel size of 2.9μm. Within the Vaonis Singularity app, you can access manual image processing and have your choice of composition and framing. You can even reveal the unseen with the Vespera II image live stacking technology which will allow you to see what is normally invisible to our eyes.
Improved Field of View
Vaonis has designed the optical system of the Vespera II with an aperture of 50mm. This is the same as the previous generation of Vespera telescope. However, they have integrated a larger sensor with a pixel array of 3840 x 2160 as opposed to the 1920 x 1080 within the Vespera I. This larger sensor captures more of the night sky and results in a larger field of view when compared to the Vespera I. This, paired with the increased focal length of 250mm, the Vespera II smart telescope offers bigger results, as seen in the image of the Andromeda Galaxy to the left.
CovalENS
With CovalENS, the first “panorama mode” ever embedded into a telescope, you can explore a much larger area of the sky than your instrument’s original field of view, creating a panorama of the universe. With Vespera Mosaic mode and CovalENS, you have a wider window into the universe and more opportunities to capture unique images, and experience enhanced Live immersion via Live Mosaic Mode. There are some objects or groups of objects that are larger than other deep sky objects, making it difficult to see their entirety. An example of this is the Great Andromeda Galaxy, measuring about 3-deg at its longest dimension. This is 6x larger than the full Moon! The Mosaic mode extends the field of view of the Vespera II Smart telescope for more complete images of large deep sky objects, better exploration of large nebulas, to obtain sets of nebulas in the same view, and to capture small asterisms or groups of a stars, like the Kemble’s Cascade (Camelopardalis constellation). The maximum field of view at the sensor proportions is 4.33-degrees x 2.43-degrees, and there is an increased resolution in Mosaic Mode. The mosaic framing is defined in relation to the north/south (EQ) sky orientation. This means you will not have to depend on the orientation of objects in the field of view. You can also benefit from the “dithering” effect, which reduces the impact of inherent sensor defects (noise and hot pixels), allowing for better quality images.
PerseverENS
Modern optics, sensors, and
post-processing technologies have made uncovering the faint and
awe-inspiring detail of deep sky objects more accessible than ever. Vaonis’
incredible algorithms and hardware make this clear, able to create stellar
images of a number of faint targets with just one night of imaging. However
with their PerseverENS update to the Singularity app, you
can take your images to a whole new level. With new multi-night observation
features unlocked, your Vespera II can now seamlessly pick up where your
previous night’s imaging left off and add more time on target. This
additional information increases the signal-to-noise ratio of your data to
reduce noise and better define faint features for even more stunning images
of celestial objects. This is compatible with your Vespera II’s CovalENS and
Singularity app’s Plan My Night 2 features, allowing you to effortlessly
plan and enhance panoramic images of deep sky targets, with up to five
simultaneous multi-night project supported!
Share your Discoveries!
The Vaonis Vespera II telescope redefines the observation experience. With this innovative telescope, you can watch the stars through the mobile app. What makes the Vespera II truly special is the ability to share your celestial adventures with others. You can connect up to five mobile devices to your Vespera II station with the multi-user mode and then share your discoveries in Ultra-HD on different social media platforms. The Vespera II helps you share your passion and the vastness of the Universe with those you care about!
Automation At It’s Finest
The Vespera II Smart telescope boasts five automated features that will make your observation session a breeze! The first is auto-initialization. The Vespera II will use your mobile’s GPS, star pattern recognition, and astrometry to calibrate itself. Once your device is set up, the telescope will be ready in less than 5 minutes. The next is auto-alignment. The Vespera II observation station uses GoTo technology, and once you select a target in the app or enter celestial coordinates, the body of the scope will move and point to the object automatically. The third is auto-tracking. Driven by a motor and controlled by the integrated computer, the Vespera II will automatically track your celestial object and compensate for the Earth’s rotation. The final automated feature is auto-focus. The Vespera II is one of the only smart telescopes on the market to utilize autofocusing, so you will no longer need to manually intervene to make sure your photos are as sharp as possible.
The Singularity App
The free Singularity app acts as the control room for your Vespera II Smart Telescope. This is where you decide every action you would like the Vespera II to take. The app is very intuitive and user-friendly, so you do not have to worry about a steep learning curve. You can easily access any stellar object within the Singularity’s catalog of 4,300 objects, including planets like Jupiter and Saturn. Additionally, you will get personalized observation recommendations based on geolocation and the astronomical calendar. Using this information, Singularity also gives you the ability to thoroughly and easily plan out your evening session based on when your favored objects will be visible; with the Plan My Night 2 feature opening up Live Mosaic and Multi-Night (PerseverENS) scheduling. This is also the place where you can learn about the objects you observe because the Singularity app is full of educational content to help make the experience more interactive and exciting. Once you start up your Vespera II telescope, Singularity will guide you each step of the way. This mobile app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
Included Backpack
Take your Vespera Smart telescope wherever you go with this ultra-compact and lightweight backpack designed specifically for the Vespera telescope. With this Vaonis backpack, your telescope and accessories will be safely stored during times of travel or storage. This means you can enjoy celestial views whether you are on vacation or meeting up for a star party. The backpack is small enough to fit in a car or even on public transport! Made out of 100% polyester, this backpack is designed to keep your Vespera equipment safe. The soft material is resistant to rain, dust, and wear. When inside, the Vespera’s shell will be protected from impacts and scratches due to the foam padding that can be found over the entire surface of the bag. In addition to the foam and sturdy material, you will find that the compartments and pockets prevent the accessories from rubbing against each other and the Vespera observation station. During times of travel, the shoulder straps will allow you to securely carry your viewing equipment from one location to another.
Included Standard Tripod
This Vaonis tripod is specifically designed to work with the Vespera observation station models. This small yet sturdy tripod connects to your telescope using a standard 3/8-16 UNC thread. The tripod comes with convenient leveling feet and a bubble level, so you can make adjustments to accommodate whatever surface on which you’re looking to place your Vespera smart telescope.

Western PA has not cooperated with my viewing. Since I acquired the Vespera II I’ve had only two nights to play with the scope. I was able to view the Orion Nebula and the Rosette Nebula with wonderful results. I can’t wait until things improve to continue to explore the DSOs.
