   I’m a beginner, so I had to do a little research to decide what kind of solar filter I should get. Based on others’ reviews, I decided on film over glass and chose the Baader ASTF 80. The components are well made and it’s easy to assemble. The spacers are adjustable to give a good fit. It feels very secure in place even without the hold-down strap

   s. The filter gives a good view of the sun in a pleasant whitish color, and I’m happy to say my retinas are intact. A good filter and a good value. Who could ask for more?
