Lunt 80 mm Modular H-Alpha Telescope – Select Blocking Filter

The Lunt 80 mm Universal Telescope is a multi-functional powerhouse! This is one of Lunt Solar System’s most popular sized telescopes. The 80 mm optics are designed with an FPL53 Doublet Lens, allowing this scope to perform beautifully whether you are viewing the Sun in H-alpha or cruising the Milky Way. The LS80MT sports true Doppler Tuning (pressure tuning) for ease and precision, and comes with a single etalon for H-alpha, a tube ring assembly that includes a dovetail and Red Dot Sun Finder handle, and a hard case. Additional accessories and modules (not included) easily convert this H-alpha telescope from solar to terrestrial, nighttime, white light, or calcium (393.4 nm) observing/imaging modes. The Lunt 80 mm modular solar telescope is versatile and portable!

Solar Blocking Filter Options

B1200 Blocking Filter for use with the LS80MT

The B1200 blocking filter is the most economical choice and is recommended for those who only plan to do visual observations (no imaging) with the LS80MT. You will have the best results with the 12 mm blocking filter if your mount has auto-tracking. For manual tracking, we recommend the B1800, with it’s wider field of view. The BF1200 will come in a 2″ diagonal housing.

The 18 mm blocking filter is recommended for anyone who wishes to do imaging, will be tracking the Sun manually, or just wants more sky area round the Solar disk. The B1800 will come in a 2″ diagonal housing that has T2 connections for mounting a camera or other T2 accessory.
